The best make money online forum sites online are without a doubt two premium subscriber sites and one free site, IMHO. In fairness though the free site is my own creation and well… it’s ok to publish press releases and articles to but the real guru / intelligence / guidance sites are hidden behind premium subscription sites, namely Wealthy Affiliate and WordPress Goldmine. Let me break down the strengths and weaknesses of each forum.
Make Money Online Forum 1: Wealthy Affiliate
The Wealthy Affiliate forum is a comprehensive premium membership forum. Premium access (if you’re serious about internet marketing as a career you need the premium membership) to the site includes hosting, many site templates, hundreds of PDFs and video tutorials – all made by the top internet marketing gurus out there. Last I looked the site membership was 14,000 strong but it has to be way more than that now.
The principal advantage of the Wealthy Affiliate forum is that there are experts in every single type of internet marketing you can imagine. Article marketing? Check. PPC? Check. Website development? Check. Product creation? Check. Video marketing? Blogging? AdSense? Affiliate marketing? Check. Check. Check. Check.
The point is that if you have a question about ANY kind of market or ANY kind of scheme you’re cooking up, or any kind of technical question that’s got you stumped… *SOMEONE* (and probably a couple of DOZEN someones) have experience with that issue and are willing to share what they’ve learned.
Disadvantages of the Wealthy Affiliate Forum
Premium Cost for a Premium Site
The principal disadvantage of the Wealthy Affiliate forum is the cost. Access to the maximum number of features of the site requires picking up the premium membership, which can be difficult for someone starting out on a low budget. People who have joined Wealthy Affiliate would do well to start off by reading *JUST*ONE*POST* from the forum, and working the plan in that post over and over again – returning to the forum to find the answers to technical questions along the way. Which brings me to the 2nd disadvantage of the Wealthy Affiliate forum: information overload.
Information Overload: Finding the Right Answer Can Be Tough
The answers to virtually any past or current problem with internet marketing WILL be found within the Wealthy Affiliate forum *SOMEWHERE* – but you may have to search awhile to find it… and it is VERY easy to get distracted by all the *OTHER* amazing features and information within the WA universe.
When Is Wealthy Affiliate the Right Choice for a Growing Internet Marketer
Is Wealthy Affiliate a good value? Damn right it is. Can you afford it? That answer may depend on just how far along your development path you have come. The way I’d break it down it this:
If you’re ready to buy a hosting account at Godaddy or Hostgator or perhaps Startlogic then you may as well pony up the cash for Wealthy Affiliate instead because you’re going to end up joining WA anyway, may as well skip the intermediate hosting accounts and join the big leagues and go WA. If you’re making enough per month to afford the WA membership, then it should be a done deal – do it today.
If not, maybe you should consider a lower cost alternative that doesn’t have the hosting features but does have a TON of instructions.
Make Money Online Forum 2: WordPress Goldmine
It’s pretty easy to describe the WPGoldmine forum after having told you about the WA forum. Whereas the WA forum has loads of books, videos, and tutorials by loads of authors, WPGoldmine forum has the FOCUSED guides and tutorial videos created by ONE person: Mark Thompson.
I can assure you these guides, videos, and tutorials are EXCELLENT. Whereas a member searching the WA forum can learn ANY kind of marketing method, the WordPress Goldmine forum focuses on ONE type of marketing method, a combination of article marketing / Product marketing / list building.
Another advantage of the WP Goldmine forum is COST. It’s is SUBSTANTIALLY less expensive than Wealthy Affiliate but does not have many of the features as well. The lack of features should not be too much of a detraction for beginner internet marketers because they simply won’t have enough time, resources, or energy to necessarily put them all to use. Having the FOCUS of developing ONE marketing plan / skillset is a great way to get started in the internet marketing business – particularly if you are REALLY concerned about information overload. Mark’s plan is simple and effective, and does not in any way contradict what you would be able to find (albeit after considerable searching) in the Wealthy Affiliate forum.
Disadvantages of the WordPress Goldmine forum
This Is NOT a Forum That Teaches PPC Techniques
If you’ve got some cash you want to throw at internet marketing advertising, WP Goldmine is NOT the course and forum for you. Spend your money on the WA forum above, and get the PPC tutorials / techniques therein.
Limited LONG TERM Value of Membership
Given the more or less singular method of the WordPress Goldmine technique, there is some limitation as to how much benefit membership has beyond a certain number of months. While Mark continues to add to his forum over time, the average user OUGHT to be able to get fully versed in every ounce of (and will have applied that) information in that forum within a year. Because there are no “sticky” features (for lack of a better word) such as hosting, templates, or link-cloaking services odds are there is severe limitations to maintaining a membership beyond a year.
